The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

A pair of titles that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Intriguing Niche Additions

Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Well-Rounded Collection

In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
